ATTENTION: EMAIL SCAM WARNING

Recently, an email began circulating from a source claiming to be from The Ohio State University. The email asks people to submit their osu.edu email account information and password. DO NOT REPLY to this email. This is a phishing attempt and not a legitimate request. OSU's account management system does not request information in this format or through email. For more information on phishing, check out the Safe Computing phishing page.

Again, this is not a legitimate email. Do not respond with any password or personal information!

If you have already responded, immediately go to the OSU account management page and change your OSU.edu account password. If you are unable to do this, immediately contact 8help (688-4357) to assist you with securing your account.

Thank You,
The Ohio State University Information Security Team

Our New Look

Information security starts with you. BuckeyeSecure has been redesigned to help you find the resources you need according to your role at the university and area of interest. All of the original resources are still available on the site, however, they are organized under one of the following headings:

  • Safe Computing: Focuses on general security concerns, such as spam, identity theft, how to protect your computer, and what to do as a new student or employee.
  • Policy: Provides an overview of the state and federal legislation affecting the use and protection of personal information as well as detailed resources on The Ohio State University's information security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Projects: Highlights projects under the Office of the CIO that improve information security at the university. Specific project information, such as timelines, governance, and project handouts are also available.
  • Information Security: Supports the information security needs of The Ohio State University's technical community, such as network administrators and IT security professionals.
