Next Change to Reports Made by the Office of the CIO and the University Registrar

As of July 2007, the Office of the CIO and the University Registrar will complete remediation of the printed Point-hour reports (1150702, 703, 704, 705, 706 & 707). The SSN will be replaced with the last eleven positions of students' name.# portion of their email addresses. Three categories of Point-hour reports are targeted: Quarter Point-hour report; Cumulative Point-hour report; and the Standing Based on Quarter and Cumulative Point-hour Ratios. Office of the CIO and the University Registrar Implement Change to Student Transcripts

Beginning June 27th 2007, the Office of the CIO and the Office of the University Registrar will eliminate Social Security Numbers on student transcripts. All other fields and information on the transcripts will remain the same. This step is part of the Buckeye Secure SSN Protection Project. Office of the CIO and the University Registrar Implement Change to Advising Reports

Beginning June 8th, 2007, the Office of the CIO (BuckeyeSecure) and the Offices of Enrollment Service and Undergraduate Education (University Registrar) will implement the first of several initiatives to address security issues related to Social Security number usage and storage. The June 8th change will remove SSN from Advising Reports. Details are available on the SSN Protection Project page.

New Institutional Data Policy Available for Comment

The Office of the CIO, in collaboration with the Enterprise Data Steering Committee and the BuckeyeSecure program, has developed a unified Policy on Institutional Data including sensitive personal information. The President's Cabinet approved the draft policy for interim use during a 60-day campus comment period. Read more on Community.
