IT Security Framework Training

The IT Security Framework Training is now available for those interested in discovering what the framework is, what it involves and how it relates to our university environment. This training module is a key component to understanding what the IT Security Framework will mean for university units and introduces the key areas of policy and procedure associated with this framework.

Once you are in the course you will see documents detailing the ISO standard as well as the presentation from the June 12th IT Security Framework Workshop.

Instructions for Accessing the Training

New Enrollment

1. Login to Carmen (https://carmen.osu.edu/)
2. Select the login button
3. Enter your OSU Internet Username (lastname.#) and password, and click the “login” button.
4. Click on the Join link in the navigation bar
5. Scroll to the bottom of the Join instructions page and click on the Join link.
6. Select the IT Security Framework course from the list presented.
7. Click on the Register button to enroll yourself in the selected course.
8. Complete requested registration information and click on the Submit button. Note that fields marked with an * are required.
9. Confirm your registration information and click on the Finish button.
10. Click on the Done button.

Accessing the Training after enrollment

1. Login to Carmen (https://carmen.osu.edu/)
2. Select the login button
3. Enter your OSU Internet Username (lastname.#) and password, and click the “login” button.
4. Your Carmen My Home page will open.
5. Under My Courses, select the □ (box) next to Special. This will open the course list of courses.
6. Select the + (plus) next to Offices of the CIO.
7. Select the IT Security Framework link.
8. The Course Home page will be displayed.
9. Click on the Content link in the navigation bar.
10. Click on the link to open the desired PDF document.
